Let's Destroy Something Beautiful
While taking a break from revising, I thought I would take one of the photos I uploaded before, and try and change it up. I'm pretty happy overall with the way this turned out.

An extra something from the photoshoot
Pretty simple editing here, I just added a yellow mask, and brought down the overall contrast to give it the vintage effect, and then added in the light leak to give a similar effect to that of the old toy cameras of the 70s. I really like the framing of this photo, and that mixed with the pose and the outfit really brings it together to make a good photo

Something a bit different
I decided to try something a bit different with this picture. It started off a little overexposed, but I used the RAW file format for the shoot which makes it easier to edit, so I put it into a program called Lightroom, and brought down the light levels. I then added a blue mask to help Laura's red jumper match better with the blue outfits of Louis and Taylor. I then grabbed a star photo online, knocked up the transparency, and then fiddled with the colour levels a little bit to get it not to clash too much, and I'm pretty happy with the results. All together, the editing took about an hour, which isn't too bad.

Finally...
Well, I finally got the photoshoot done, but like I said before, it wasn't under ideal circumstances. Still, it's finally done, and I'm pretty happy about the way it turned out. One issue I had was that the lighting was a little to bright, so some of the lighting is pretty harsh. Just my luck, some of that good old British cloud cover would have been perfect to diffuse the light and soften it, but what can you do. It also didn't help that security kicked us out after forty five minutes, so I may have to come back to this at some point in a place that is a little more hospitable to photography.
I've started editing some of the shots, and what I have so far is pretty satisfactory, the only issue being is that there isn't very much of it. So without further ado, here's a taste of what I have so far...

Inspiration is a fickle beast
I've been finding more and more recently that I'm really picky and finicky with a lot of stuff I do. I do anything creative, be it lyrics, photography, any kind of writing whatsoever, but I'll come back to it later, and feel totally different. I can't count the amount of times I write some lyrics that I love at the time, I'll come back two weeks later, and it feels shallow, forced, and cringy, and I'll absolutely hate it. I know it's my own problem, but it always irritates me when people seem to be able to write amazing things with what seems like next to no effort whatsoever.

Soho in one photo
There's something I love about Soho that I can't quite put my finger on. It always seems so alive, and so unlike any other place in London. It's the seedy underbelly of an already pretty dirty city.

Photoshoot concept
I've had an idea for a photoshoot knocking around my head for a while, but I've been having trouble getting it done because of scheduling conflicts and that kind of stuff. Frustrating, but unavoidable in most cases, so I hold no ill will. Still, it's looking like this thing may finally be getting done in the coming weeks, but not under the most ideal circumstances. It was meant to be 4 people; 2 guys, 2 girls, but due to difficulties, I've had to cut it down to 2 guys and just the one girl. It's been damn near impossible to find a replacement because I can't find anyone else who really fits the concept, which is probably best described as Understated Individuality.
The whole idea is that I wanted to document people who have their own sense of style which is unique, but not overpowering. In my mind, the best kind of style is the one that doesn't force itself into your eyes, but still is noticeable. The reason I had these four people in mind is because I'm a fan of all their styles and dress senses. That's why I haven't been able to find a replacement girl, because as far as I can tell, most girls I see dress near enough identically, and what's the point in documenting a style that you can see everywhere already?

Truth, Justice, and Supreme
Just something I knocked together really quickly in Photoshop, so it's a little rough around the edges, but you get the general idea. I had an issue with selecting colours for the box, because I found that there weren't many colours that really mesh well with the Superman logo. The basic red box logo didn't really work because it was too much of a single colour which kind of detracted from the overall impact of the Superman logo. I decided on black and grey because they work well as complimentary colours with nearly everything and let the red and yellow of the logo pop, but I think the blue is the best because it still goes back to the overall Superman motif while still letting the logo stand out well.
Lumberjack Swag
From the mixture of the relatively low shutter speed, and the use of the flash, it's led to an interesting effect where it looks like there is a shadow around the subject. It almost looks like the subject is standing in front of a screen with market projected on it, and I really like the overall effect
Well...
I don't really know what there is to say, thanks for reading this, I guess. I'll mostly be using this blog to post all kinds of stuff like photography, graphic design, or anything else that tickles my fancy. Hope you enjoy.
